This year again we will have an exciting mix of roundtables, rights & licenses training, matchmakings, keynote presentations and networking breaks. There will also be the thematic workshops led by noted practitioners and an Experts’ Table with a panel of industry experts there to guide you. GLOBALOCAL 2014 brought the focus back on increasing one on one networking opportunities and in year 2015, the same trend continues. We present the EXCLUSIVE INDIA Trip again with a view to increasing planned interactions between Indian publishers/distributors/retailers/digital service providers and their international publishing counterparts. To that effect, we have invited publishers/companies from across the globe, interested in the Indian publishing industry from a business perspective, to visit India from 8-14 February 2015, be a part of the Trip, attend GLOBALOCAL 2015 right before participating in the New Delhi World Book Fair 2015. The Trip is planned across Delhi and Chennai and maximises the international participant’s experience of the Indian Publishing industry.

GLOBALOCAL 2015 remains the Forum for content and also becomes a platform for the rights and licensing business. Including a Business Centre [space for reserved ‘Tables’ to conduct business, matchmakings at], dedicated spaces for Rights & License seminars, Roundtables, Workshops and Experts’ Table etc., this is a multi-format event which offers you enough options to choose from.

The Roundtable Discussions
On the first day of GLOBALOCAL 2015, you can register for the CEOs’ Roundtable and witness a future-forward discussion between strategic decision makers from the publishing fraternity. This panel will comprise of international CEOs, heads of publishing houses in India, and publishing professionals of notewho will engage in trend forecasting for the publishing industry.
On the second day of GLOBALOCAL, we will organise a STM Roundtable directly addressing the needs of this very important segment of the industry. In this forum, major national and international players of the industry will discuss their approaches/practices in relation to markets practices while talking about anticipated next stages.

Rights and Licenses
As GLOBALOCAL 2015 also caters to the Rights and Licensing aspect of the business, we will offer an intensive Rights and License trainings on both days of the event. National and international experts will share their knowledge and expertise with publishers/rights managers/editors and those associated with this. Topics dealt with will include identifying and prioritising rights markets, finding and contacting potential licensees, offering and negotiating rights deals successfully among others. This forum will create an interactive ambience for discussing while getting acquainted with the Ps and Qs of serious rights trade, so that, those involved in this part of publishing get to further their knowledge and also raise issues otherwise isolated.
In the afternoon of both days we will organise targeted matchmakings involving different segments of the industry from inside and outside of India. These sessions will entail:
- Each Matchmaking session will be spread over two afternoons
- Each company will get one on one meetings, with all other interested (targeted) companies and each meeting will last approx15 minutes
Planned matchmakings [tentative]:
- Indian Publishers and International Companies- Targeted towards Indian publishers looking to sell/showcase their titles (for which they have the rights) to large overseas buyers and content platforms.
- Indian Publishers and International Publishers/Service Providers – Targeted towards Indian and International publishers looking to exchange rights (territorial, translation etc.) and do content-collaborations with each other.
- Indian Printers and International Publishers - Targeted towards Indian printers looking to sell their print related services to International publishers.
- Indian Digital Service Providers and International Publishers - Targeted towards Indian digital players (other than printers) looking to sell their pre-press and digital publishing services to International publishers.
This will comprise of a panel of national and international experts drawn from various walks of the publishing industry who will be made available to participants for a limited-period one-on-one advice/counselling session. These difficult-to-meet personalities will share expert guidance on the specific issues brought to them by the participants.
Workshops - on exciting and industry –related topics like crossmedia story-telling and innovating startups, led by area experts invited from India and abroad.
Keynote addresses/Presentations - speeches and presentations by experts, national and international, on trends and subjects dealing with digital innovations, recent challenges in the publishing industry etc.
Sponsored Slots - the perfect space to highlight, present or launch a product/service/idea before a focused audience which is drawn from the trade.
GLOBALOCAL Catalogue - it houses selected book titles from publishers (for rights exchange) and profiles of companies participating in GLOBALOCAL. It will be an online directory with an afterlife until the next edition of GLOBALOCAL in 2016.
